M's Quote of the Week
Quote To Note- "Our defense and bullpen are just unbelievable right now." Pitcher Horacio Ramirez after M's beat the yank's 2-1 on sunday
Weaver anyone?.............................anyone?
Last night I recieved a text message from one of my best buddy's Joe and the message stated: "My Dad wants to see an atricle on what we'd trade or get for Weaver. Like what we would take for him." That text really got me thinking. Personally, I really dont know what we could get for Weaver and his astronomical stats(0-6 14.32 era). However, if I was forced to make a trade today as we speak I would probably trade Jeffery to some Columbian summer league team for 50 pounds of there finest coffee. I might even trade the ace for a Single A pitcher in the Kansas City Royals organization who is the 5th starter in the rotation.

Thanks Bavasi
As a huge fan of the seattle mariners I would just like to thank Bill Bavasi, the greatest GM the Mariners have ever had.
Thanks Bill for overpaying another angel cast off in Jeff Weaver. So far the the little leaguer is 0-4 with an era of 18.26. Good thing your only paying him 8.3 million bucks this year. For that price you might have been able sign a decent pitcher like Jason Schmidt or Barry Zito.
Thanks Bill for signing Miguel Batista. I dont have anything against the guy personally, hell hes 3-1 but for 6 mill a year, you could of found a better pitcher.
Thanks Bill for just throwing out money like it grows on trees.Jose Lopez and Felix Hernandez are makeing $420,000 this year and both are very pivotal players to the team. Jose Guillen on thee other hand is getting $5 mill this year. No offense to Willie, but damn, even willie is making more than the two starters combined. Same goes to Chris Reitsma. Why is he making more than the future face of the team.

My blog
The reason I chose to write about the mariners is because I love sports and they are my hometown baseball team that I have followed for as long as I can possibly remember. To some people, like my mom, sports are boring and stupid. She always wonders why my friends and I or my dad get so worked up about them. Its something she will never understand. To me, sports are a way of life. For example, if the Seahawks win on sunday, I can usually have a good day followed by some great sleep. If they lose, my whole day is filled with vulgar language along with should of, could of's and would of' s going through my head while im laying in bed tossing and turning. I love sports;therefore, I love to write about them.

M's Preview
To start things off, let's go over the starting line-up. Batting lead-off for the M's for the 7th straight year is Ichiro Suzuki,cf,who has averaged a .331 avg. and 200+ hits in each of his 7 seasons with the M's. Hitting second is Adrian Beltre,3b, who is solid in the field but has struggled at the plate since coming to the M's from the Dodgers in 04 when he battd .334 with a league leading 48 hr's and 121 rbi's. In theh 3rd spot is Jose Vidro dh, who is a proven .300 who played his entire career with the Expos and Nationals club. Batting clean-up for the M's is Raul Ibanez lf, who is coming off a career year with 33 hr's and 133 rbi's. A very consistent ball player. In the 5th spot is Richie Sexson 1b, who is the M's biggest hr threat. Used to bat clean-up but the decline is his B.A was just too much. Batting 6th is Jose Guillen rf, who has potential of having a 30 and 90 season. Hitting 7th is Kenji Johjima c, who has fitted in well since joining the club last season. Had decent stats as a rookie with a .291 ave. and 18 hr's with 76 rbi's. In the 8th spot is Jose Lopez 2b, who was actually an all-star last season when he got off to a hot first half of the season. Good hitter and fielder but a little inconsistent. Last but not least, batting 9th for the M's is Yuniesky Betancourt ss, who is said to be one the best defensive ss in thee entire league. Good hitter who needs to improve if he wants to make a name for himself as an elite player.
